Pop Culture Africa awards to recognize events for post Covid era.

Organizers of the annual Pop Culture Africa Awards, which is a celebration of the Events industry and its personalities says that this year’s ceremony will include awarding Events that where done virtually via any platform.

In a statement released by the spokesperson, Poptv Events Africa, Mr Chinedu Nmegwah, the reason behind the decision and that of hosting the event virtually is as a result of the situation of things globally as regards the Covid-19 pandemic which has limited public gatherings and pushed the entertainment and events trend virtually.

“Over the Months, various platforms such as Zoom, instagram, have driven the events space to a virtual limelight and to this regard, we have decided to recognize these virtual/online events as well as follow the guidelines of the NCDC to restrictive public gathering, by hosting this year’s event virtually”, he said.

This year will lead to the introduction of categories such as Virtual event of the year, Virtual event for personal development as well as virtual Event directory of the year.

The virtual awards ceremony will be done on a yet to be disclosed date in December and we see all attendees using some social platforms to view and enjoy the fun of the main event.

Its maiden awards which was done in 2018 handed out 21 awards to various events practitioners and personalities. Some of the awards given to recipients included Events of the year, Events planner of the year as well as Event ticketing brand of the year, etc.

Some of its past awardees includes Lanre Makun, Sammy Walsh, Kemena, Chimefrancis, Ivaldrol, Stinblaze the comedian, Lorenzo Menakaya, Federation theatre, Oracus digital, etc.
