PCAA set to go virtual in 2020
In the current pandemic and the strict protocol on social gathering as well as the distabilization of the social and economic space during these times, the board of the annual Pop Culture Africa awards have decided to flow with the trend of bringing the awards to the online space for our viewers to stay home and enjoy every bit of bliss, glamour and entertainment from the comfort of their homes.
Speaking to news blog, the Creative Director, Chinedu Nmegwah highlighted that although we don’t pray for a long and over due pandemic duration, it is better if we consider the safety of our guests, fans and supporters during and post pandemic era. ”It is worthy to note that last year, we had a guest list of over 150 persons with attendees from all across Nigeria, this is apart from the technical crew, staff and partners of the brand. Restrictions in different states may differ so in other not to have anyone left out, this idea is one that will be well accepted”, He said.
He further stated that after the lock down has been eased, there will be a winners/nominees dinner and after party as part of the yearly event for 2020.
All nominations, voting and pre-event preparations are and will still remain in top gear as this year promises to be history making as we intend to pioneer the first ever awards events done virtually on any platform.
More info and details on awards which is in it’s third edition will be released in the following days.
The Pop Culture Africa Awards is a celebration of the Events industry and its personalities. Over the years, we have rewarded numerous events and events personalities such as Lanre Making, Sammmy Walsh, Lorenzo Menakaya, Amacutiex, etc. So #PCAA as it will be shortly called is a platform to appreciate the hands behind a successful event and celebrate the best of events across Nigeria with an expansion plan into the African space.
