PopCulture Awards Africa 2019 #PCAA2019 kicked off with a great start at exactly 8pm. The event that celebrates personalities in the entertainment and creative industry saw the attendance of amazing personalities on the red carpet with the PopTV Official VJ, Victoria Nelson.
The event started with an opening prayer by the Project Manager of Chedrah Republic, Uche Obasi aka Pisniq. Chedrah Republic hosted this year’s Miss Bold And Beautiful Nigeria (MBBN). Next up was the opening remarks by the creative director and Executive Producer of PopTV Official and the organizer of PCAA2019, Nmegwah Chinedu who gave a run down of the history of Pop Culture Awards Africa. Nmegwah Chinedu recognized official partners of PCAA and sponsors of the event.
Popular artist, Kemena gave the opening performance and thrilled the crowd with his latest hit song “Bad Things”.
The first category of awards was presented by CEO of Times Office, Eze Kizito. Federation Theatre, UNN, hosts of the annual Through my talent (TMT) event beat their competitors to bag the Drama Event of the Year award. Music Event Award of the Year was awarded to Unplugged 02 which was collected by the host of Unplugged and CEO of Ivaldrol Clothings, Lavi. Comedian and MC, Eze Kingsley, popularly known as MC DeKing bagged Comedy Event of the Year with his event tagged Epiphany of Deking. Next category, Beauty Event of the Year, was awarded to Miss Bold and Beautiful (MBBN) and was received by the beautiful winner of MBBN2019, Odinaka Chioma Sandra.
The second category for the event was presented by the CEO of Oracus NG, Ezeanyi Henry.
DJ Sixpence won Event DJ of the year award and Fashion and Beauty Event of the Year was awarded to Miss Bold and Beautiful Nigeria (MBBN) 2019. Ivaldrol Consult went home with the prestigious award of Event Planner of the year and Kemena received the award for Event Entertainer of the Year.
PCAA award winning hosts of TMT 5.0, Federation Theatre Group UNN, got the crowd in a frenzy with their entertaining dance-drama performance. The crowd was amazed with the excellent stunts and beautiful dance steps the group presented.
The next category of awards was presented by the CEO of PopTV Official and Creative Director of PCAA2019, Nmegwah Chinedu. Amarachi Chukwudi, aka Amacutiex, bagged the award for the Event Host of the Year. YAADAI Event for Social Change was awarded to the prestigious Rotaract Club of UNN. The award was received by the President of the club, Rotr. Mozie Michael, and Vice President, Rotr. Amarachi. Event MC of the year was awarded to Stinblaze. Kajo Tickets also won Event Ticketing Brand of the Year.
The last category of awards was presented by PCAA2019 hosts, Chime Francis and ……
Student Brand of the Year award was presented to Oracus NG and received by the CEO of Oracus NG, ……..
Next rated Event was awarded to Mic On Flames, Best on Campus Event of the Year was awarded to TMT 5.0, Event Photographer of the Year was awarded to Chris Dubem, and Brand Supporter of the Year was awarded to Phoenix Media.
Media Icon and Personality of the Year award, and award that recognises admirable effort by persons in the entertainment and creative industry, was awarded to Lanre Makun, CEO of Lanre Makun Events, Sammy Nonela Walsh, MtvBase VJ and host of Slay or Shade, Lorenzo Menakaya, award winning OAP, and Amarachi Chukwudi, CEO of AL the Brand and Social Media PR Specialist. Overall Event of the Year award was bagged by Campus Photofest.
Pop Culture Africa Awards 2019 was full of excitement and every attendee of the event expressed their delight and congratulated the Creative Director of PCAA2019 for a wonderful event.
