Having left ENUGU For LAGOS fully in 2018 because I didn’t want to BREAK OUT In 042 and then relocate to LAGOS To start afresh.
I decided to come straight to Lagos and chase the dream.
In 2019 I was shuttling between service year which was three years late for me and getting to know the LAGOS COMEDY MARKET.
So big a market you can’t cover fully.
At the end of the service year, the pandemic welcomed Me.
I was stuck.
While stuck, I was still under the tutelage of MBAKARA (I still am)
Appearing in Comedy clubs sparingly and also gracing stages of my colleagues on their own shows.
These was after the relaxation of the LOCKDOWNS AND SHUTDOWNS.
It Took me these years to gain the new LAGOS STATE COMEDY STAGE CONFIDENCE.
Three years on, I announced my FIRST EVENT.
A CHIMEFRANCIS LIVE ON STAGE COMEDY PARTY.
I put the REGULAR Ticket at 10,000 Naira (DARING RIGHT?!)
Well because the event tickets are limited and my event venue is a cozy lounge that doesn’t like huge crowds.
Very self centered of me, you know how much I like things small and INTIMATE.
I am happy I waited these long to do a LAGOS EVENT coming of the experience of having done FIVE EVENTS IN NSUKKA TOWN OF ENUGU.
A million qualities a standup comedian has to learn but Identifying TIME AND CHANCE is as important as knowing how to write your own jokes.
I knew when I was ready to start pushing my own gigs in LAGOS.
You must be guided and strategize. It is very important for staying relevant for a long while in your industry.
